What Makes the FSC Career Guarantee Unique?

A Step-by-Step Plan for Career Success

Starting in your first year, you'll engage in career readiness activities, including resume building, LinkedIn assistance, internship guidance, leadership development, and more. As you work toward graduation, you'll build on your experiences to develop critical skills and expand your networks.

A Clear Path to Opportunities

By graduation, you will have participated in mock interviews, identified job opportunities, applied for positions or graduate programs, and built a polished resume or CV to showcase your experiences.

Guaranteed Outcomes

If you complete all the requirements of the program and do not secure a job or graduate school placement within six months of graduation, FSC will step in with either:

Loan Assistance - Covering FSC-specific loan payments for up to three months while you continue your job search.
Graduate Tuition Waiver - Cover tuition for six graduate credits at FSC.

Career readiness is extremely important for today’s college students, and we are thrilled to launch our new FSC Career Guarantee program for our first-year students. It provides a structured, year-by-year roadmap of career-related activities to guarantee our FSC students are fully career-ready for employment, graduate school, or other post-graduation career goals!

How It Works

The FSC Career Guarantee is tailored for first-time, first-year college students. Students enroll in the program during their first year and follow a four-year sequence of career preparation activities. Highlights include:

Year 1 - Build the foundation by meeting with Career Services, setting up a Handshake account, and completing the Internship Ready course.
Year 2 - Explore career interests through informational interviews and continued engagement with Career Services events.
Year 3 - Dive into leadership roles, complete internships, and refine career goals with targeted strategies.
Year 4 - Execute the plan by applying to jobs or graduate programs, completing mock interviews, and showcasing a competitive resume or CV.

What Students Need to Do

To qualify for the FSC Career Guarantee, students must:

Enroll as full-time first-year students (transfer students are ineligible).
Declare a major by the first day of junior year.
Maintain at least a 2.8 GPA throughout the program.
Complete two approved internships or experiential learning opportunities.
Actively engage in all required activities for the program, even if planning to graduate a semester or a year early.
Begin the job search by the start of their final year, completing job or graduate school applications, and any additional recommendations from the Office of Career Services.
Meet any legal or regulatory requirements of the chosen field.
Graduate within 4 years of enrollment.*

* Students intending to graduate a year or semester early must complete all four-year program requirements within a condensed timeframe. Those planning to graduate from Florida Southern College in less than three years, or take a gap year, are not eligible for the program.

The FSC Career Guarantee is a four-year structured sequence of career preparation activities delivered via non-credit online modules in Canvas. Beginning in your first year, you'll engage with these modules and continue working through them throughout your time at FSC, ensuring a step-by-step pathway to career readiness and post-graduation success.

As you prepare for graduation, the Mocs Milestone: Graduation Ready! will serve as your centralized hub for completing essential non-academic graduation tasks. From the graduation check to commencement details, this course ensures you have everything you need to stay organized and smoothly transition from FSC to the next chapter of your journey.
