At FSC, innovation is at the heart of student success. Students are transforming their ideas into real-world businesses, tackling challenges across industries. From marketing agencies to genetic testing companies, they are demonstrating the creativity and determination to make a meaningful impact.

By empowering Florida Southern College students, the Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (CFEE), plays a vital role in driving new ventures and entrepreneurial innovation. Students participate in a variety of entrepreneurial competitions, including the annual Truist Business Plan competition, where they can win funding to support and grow their business ideas.

Through the support of CFEE and its entrepreneurial resources, students at FSC are turning their business ideas into successful ventures. Here are just a few examples of the innovative companies being launched on campus:

Dermageneous: Brooke Sommers
Dermageneous is a genetic testing company that reduces the trial-and-error process for patients with rosacea. By analyzing your unique genetic profile, you will be matched with proven products tailored to your skin’s needs, saving time and helping patients manage rosacea more effectively.

Tafika Tickets: Happyson Kuanda
Tafika is an online ticketing platform that simplifies intercity travel in Zambia. With a convenient pre-booking mobile app, Tafika saves travelers time and hassle by allowing them to secure tickets in advance. Tafika recently earned a prestigious award of $18,000 in recognition of its innovative approach to transforming travel.

Incog-needle: Nathan Calvary
Incog-needle is a specially designed needle cover that uses gentle misdirection techniques to reduce stress and anxiety in children during shots at the doctor’s office. This idea won Nathan a $7,000 award, recognizing its effectiveness in making medical visits less intimidating for kids.

Patch N Play: Luke Citarelli
This peel-and-stick patch extends the life of tennis and pickleball shoes, offering a quick, durable solution for areas prone to wear and tear. Luke was awarded $3,000 for his invention, helping athletes get more use out of their favorite footwear.

Mastro: Raphael Jorge
Mastro is a digital marketing company that specializes in web design, social media strategies, and brand awareness. Focused on helping businesses enhance their online presence, Mastro offers customized marketing solutions that drive growth and engagement. With seven clients, Rafael has generated over $100,000 in revenue and created jobs for a team of four.

The Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship has been a catalyst for innovation, resulting in 70 startups, $76,500 in funding awarded, four statewide competition wins, and 23 jobs created. Through its support, FSC students are transforming their entrepreneurial ideas into successful ventures that make a real impact.
