Real-World Marketing Meets the Classroom - FSC MBA Students Create A Winning Campaign
Apr 14, 2026
Florida Southern’s Master of Business Administration students have recently stepped into the role of marketing agencies, developing full promotional campaigns to drive awareness for the Express shuttle service during the upcoming SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo. From social media mockups and creative assets to detailed project timelines and budgets, each team built a strategy designed to launch this past March.
Students have tackled real consumer barriers, analyzing why local visitors might avoid the shuttle and positioning the Express as a smarter alternative to ride-sharing or onsite parking. They have also documented how they used AI tools for tasks like sentiment analysis and visual mockups, while identifying and correcting any AI-generated errors to ensure their plans were practical and accurate.
“This project exemplifies the kind of immersive, real-world learning experience that defines our MBA program. Our students didn’t just study marketing strategy, they applied it in a high-stakes environment, leveraging data, creativity, and emerging technologies like AI to solve real challenges,” said Dr. Michael Weber, Dean of FSC’s Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise. “We are incredibly proud to see their work recognized and brought to life at an event as significant as the SUN ’n FUN Aerospace Expo.”
This event is the 2nd largest Airshow in the nation, drawing thousands of aviation enthusiasts, industry professionals, and families from across the country. For Florida Southern’s MBA students, it represents more than just a high-profile venue. It is a live stage where classroom concepts meet real-world impact.
The final pitches took place in a formal client setting, where teams defended their data-backed strategies in real time to Citrus Connection’s General Manager, Tom Phillips. The winning team, comprised of Kesha Patel, Cora Perez, Carlos Bernotti, and Fabian Hevia, will soon see their marketing plan become a reality at the 2026 SUN ‘n FUN on April 14-19th.
This collaboration and implementation of ideas in such a dynamic environment is both a professional milestone and a testament to each MBA student’s hard work and innovation.
